Louis J. Woolf, Interim President and CEO
Lou Woolf

Louis J. Woolf became interim president and CEO of Hebrew SeniorLife in May 2024, after serving as president and CEO of the organization from 2013-2023. Previously, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer at Partners Healthcare System's North Shore Medical Center, a multi-site, integrated health care delivery system north of Boston. He also spent eight years in leadership at the CareGroup Healthcare System, where he held key positions, including executive vice president and COO of New England Baptist Hospital and senior vice president of system development and communications for all CareGroup's hospitals.

Melissa Tearney has been a volunteer leader at Hebrew SeniorLife for more than 25 years, including joining the Board in 2008 and serving in such roles as Board Secretary, Chair of the Governance and Conflicts Committees, and member of the Campaign Steering, Development, Audit, and Compliance Committees. 

Melissa is a Partner in the Government Enforcement & Compliance Practice Group at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP, an international law office based in Boston. As Co-Chair of Choate’s Litigation Department, Melissa was named a “Top Woman of Law” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and a “2016 Woman of Influence” by the Boston Business Journal. She has also made the list of Super Lawyers in Massachusetts, an annual ranking of outstanding lawyers nominated through peer recognition and achievement. She has also been listed in Best Lawyers in America and in Chambers USA. With 30 years of experience, Melissa helps clients ranging from start-ups to global companies navigate investigations and the development and implementation of effective compliance measures and programs. 

Melissa earned her bachelor’s and law degrees from Harvard University. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Greater Boston Legal Services and Camp Bauercrest, and is a trustee at Thayer Academy and co-chairs their capital campaign.
